TRÜTH DGA Glass Syringes are used to obtain samples of mineral oil in a transformer to test the quality of the oil. Transformer mineral oil is used to cool the transformer and also provides electrical insulation.

TRÜTH DGA Glass Syringes for Transformer Oil Sampling as per IEC-60567, IEC-60475 & ASTM – D923

The 10ml TRÜTH DGA Glass Syringes are used to obtain samples of mineral oil in a transformer to test the quality of the oil. Transformer mineral oil is used to cool the transformer and also provides electrical insulation. When this mineral oil is subjected to high thermal and electrical stresses, it decomposes and gases are generated. Different gases are generated from different types of faults, and the chemical analysis of these gases (Dissolved Gas Analysis) provides diagnostic information about the condition of the transformer. The process of obtaining samples takes place from time to time on regular intervals. These products are not intended for human use.

DGA syringes are custom fit (matched numbered) to create a tight fit between the barrel and plunger. The barrels are frosted in order to avoid pressure and vacuum build-up in the syringe and breakage during handling. In addition to improving the fluency of the barrel while pulling the oil sample out of the transformer, it also avoids the formation of bubbles once the sample is collected as the plunger is allowed to move which prevents air ingress in case of volume variations. These features are prescribed in IEC 60475.

The syringe is also available with respective accessories including TOSIN 3way stock cock, TOSIN Tubing with connector, TOSIN Padded carrying case.
